The Preston Library will be hosting some Wii times during the Hot Reads Program from March 7th -19th.
The games available to play are: Bowling, tennis, baseball, boxing, Rock Band and Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz.

“Travel Back in Time to 1944 and meet a WW2 American GI”. Steve Karlson, former Preston Librarian (1992-1994), will be at the Preston Public Library on Saturday, November 15th at 1:00 p.m. to give insights into what it was like to be fighting over in Europe during World War II. The program will highlight the weapons, radios, uniforms and personal items used by the typical GIs.

Wednesday, April 9, 2008. The banner arrived at 10:00 a.m. escorted by Preston Police Chief, Matt Schultz while an 8th grade ensemble played the school song. Mayor Kurt Reicks accepted the banner from Lanesboro Library director Jill Veerkamp and city administrator Bobbie Vickerman. Everyone was then invited to the back of the library to write their thoughts about Minnesota in a special journal, view a display set up by the Preston Historical Society, watch showings of the video "Preston Through the Years" and eat cookies and bars.
Thursday, April 10, 2008. The banner left Preston at 8:45 a.m. accompanied by City Administrator Joe Hoffman and Library Director Beth Anderson. It was greeted in Wykoff at the Kingsland Middle School by Spring Valley Library Director Dianne Sikkink, Wykoff Mayor Mike Holzer, Spring Valley Mayor Jim Struzyk, Kingsland Superintendent Darrin Strosahl and former Minnesota Representative Greg Davids.

Harriet visits the Library! Harriet is a bald eagle who lives at the National Eagle Center in Wabasha, Minnesota and was featured on the Colbert Report.
Funding for this program was provided by a LSTA grant acquired by SELCO.
