2007 Summer Reading Report for Preston Library

Congratulations to all of our successful summer readers! A total of 82 young people registered to read in Preston Public Library’s “Go Bananas @ Your Library” program. Kids in the Read-To-Me group enjoyed a total of 1336 books. Readers read a total of 37,800 minutes, or 405 hours. Teens read 34,670 pages.

In the Read-To-Me group, the following children had over 100 books read to them: Kaylee and Kaleb A., Cailey and Chastidy R., Ian S., and Keanna W. A few of our top readers in the elementary through middle school Readers group were Kerri D. (68 hours), Delton S. (52), Annalise S. (44), Gabrielle S. (44), Cole R. (36), Alan J. (32), Julianna F. (20), and Christian H. (20). In the teen group, Shira A. was the top reader, with 15,622 pages. Other top reading teens were Janelle C. (6322 pages), Danielle B. (5927), and Kelsey S. (4532).

Drawings were held weekly for treats and prizes, donated by the following businesses: B & B Bowl, The Brickhouse, Chic’s Pizza, Foremost Farms, Haugan’s Pharmacy, Johnson’s Hardware, Preston Foods, Preston Swimming Pool, Sweet Stop, Trailhead Inn, and Ty Inc. A total of 104 prizes were awarded to our busy readers over the summer.
