>Congratulations to all of our successful summer readers! A total of 99 young people registered to read in Preston Public Library’s “Catch the Reading Bug @ Your Library” program. For the first time this year we included 0-3 year olds in our reading program. Parents read to their little ones 464 days, while kids in the Read-To-Me group enjoyed a total of 1,173 books. Readers read a total of 41,041 minutes, or 424 hours and teens read 25,757 pages.
In the Read-To-Me group, the following children had over 100 books read to them: Ian S. and Seth R. Our top readers in the elementary through middle school Readers group with over 25 hours of reading were Tyler C., Aliesha H., Hannah R., Marshall R., Delton S., Annalise S. and Gabrielle S. In the teen group, Shira A. and Janelle C. read over 5,000 pages.
Drawings were held weekly for treats and prizes, donated by the following businesses: B & B Bowl, Uncommon Charm, Chic’s Pizza, Foremost Farms, Weber Judd, Johnson’s Hardware, Preston Foods, Sweet Stop, Trailhead Inn Preston Motor Mart, One Stop, Old Maid Popcorn, and Ty Inc.

The final drawing was done on August 30th with the following winners: Cole R. and Xavier P. won T-shirts; Sadie B., Tianna P., Jeremy O. and Julianna F. won tote bags; Dillon O. won a book pack; Katelin E. and Kelsey S. won travel mugs; and Sage G. won $20 Preston Bucks. Please pick up your prizes by September 30th.
